Children's Ministries

Hauser Community Church offers a variety of ministries designed to meet the needs of people of all ages in our community. We believe Christian parents should be the primary providers and examples for their child’s spiritual welfare. Our desire is to empower and partner with parents in helping families know God and be all they can be to His glory.

Our Vision: is to see each child know Christ and become like Him.

Our Purpose: is to transform young lives into Christ-likeness.

Our Mission: is to evangelize and disciple the youth of our community through an exciting, high quality (Christ centered) children's ministry; reaching, teaching and encouraging each child on to the fullness of Christian maturity

NURSERY ~ Little Lambs ~ Birth to 2 years

We believe that infants begin to learn about the love of God even in the Nursery.  By meeting needs promptly, caring, sharing and lots of smiles, we show them that God’s house is indeed a pretty wonderful place to be.

NURSERY STAFF

Composed of a team of carefully screened men and women, who are regular attendees and serve once a month.

“Bible Adventure Zone” classes, (Nursery through 6th) are available on Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 8:15, 9:45, & 11:00 a.m.  Children learn Bible truths and principles through such creative teaching methods as storytelling, drama, music, video and audio instruction,  puppets, activities, crafts, and discussions.  Children  also learn by observation and modeling; therefore, each classroom is staffed by qualified volunteers who are committed to the spiritual development of each child.  Let our Bible Adventure Zone help you and your child discover what a difference Christ can make in your life!

“Kid’s Worship Time” is our 1st through 6th Grade Children’s Church.  KWT meets in the Children’s Worship Center (Room 200B).  Children are treated to age appropriate worship music, puppet skits, the latest in quality Christian videos, and of course, the heart of Kid’s Worship Time, a Bible message with a Gospel presentation.  Children can attend all three KWT’s and not listen to the same message twice.  Our desire is to have church be a place where children want to be, a place where they can come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and grow in that relationship

“Wild & Crazy Fun Time 4 Kidz” ~ Children 1st through 6th  Grade are invited to join us for these fun outings during Spring Break and throughout the Summer.  Locations and activities vary from outing to outing.  Children are treated to everything from local outings to trips as far away as Eugene and Newport.  Call the Church to find out what our next activity will be!

“Released-Time” ~ Many of our Children’s workers minister with, and under the  direction of Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) in ministering to public school children off campus during their lunch break.  This is a great opportunity to minister to children who might otherwise never go to church.  Released-Time follows the school year and is located in many schools throughout the region.  For further information, call CEF Regional Director Nancy Goodman at (541) 756-1776.

“Cub Scouts” is a fun program for boys in the 1st - 5th Grades.  Dens of 4-10 boys meet once weekly for crafts, games and learning with adult leaders.  Dens are formed of boys that are all of the same grade.  Once a month, all the Dens meet, along with their families, for a big activity called the “Pack Meeting.”  Yearly activities include “Cub Day Camp” for a week in the summer, “Cub Residents Camp” for a long weekend, and “Webelos Weekend” in the Fall for older Cubs (Webelos Scouts).  The aim of the Cub Scout Program is to introduce boys to Scouting and build family values.  Den meeting times and locations vary ~ call Rachel Hayes at 756-2591.

“Boy Scouts” have been serving the needs of boys, 6th Grade through High School, for over 90 years now as these young men grow toward manhood.  All Scouts in Troop 761 meet weekly at Spoondrift Lodge on Mondays, 6:30 - 8:15 p.m.  The Troop has a weekend activity at least once a month, (usually camping), year round.  There is a week-long “Scout Camp” once each summer for all scouts and an optional ten day “High Adventure” for the older, more experienced Scouts.  Boys participate in at least two service projects and also various fundraisers to support their activities.  The aims of Scouting are character development, good citizenship, and physical fitness.  For more information, contact Scoutmaster Jeff Snyder at (541) 756-4938 with any questions you may have.

“The Mailbox Club” ~ is a series of free Bible lessons for children by correspondence.  There are four age groups available:

     “See & Do” ~ for ages 4 - 7

      “Explorers” ~ for ages 9 - 11

     “Story Time” ~ for ages 7 - 9

       “Winners” ~ for ages 11 - 13

There are two series of lessons for each age group. Children are sent the first lesson.  After the lesson is mailed back, the     answers are checked and the next lesson is sent to the child.  There are between 7 - 10 lessons in each series.  When the child   has completed all of the lessons, he or she receives a certificate with his or her name on it and the first lesson in the next series.

CEF “Five Day Clubs”

Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) “Five Day Clubs” are a great opportunity for the children to come together for a life-changing week of hearing the good news of Jesus Christ!

Vacation Bible School ~ Children from all over the community are invited to this once a year incredible outreach event.  Each year we have a different theme with lots of excitement and surprises for the kids.  Children will be treated to snacks, lots of games and contests with great prizes!  God’s Word is proclaimed in a relevant and understandable way for the children.  Busing is available for Vacation Bible School.

Camp Good News” ~ This yearly event is a week-long camp for children, ages 7-12 years, and is held by Child Evangelism Fellowship.  Camp Good News, (located at Camp Fircroft, just south of Bandon), is a fun, exciting, and spiritually challenging time for children.  Perhaps there is no better setting to lead a child to Christ and help them grow in that relationship than at Christian Camp.
